Couples & Relationship Therapy in Thousand Oaks (Online Across California)

Helping couples and individuals improve communication, rebuild trust, and feel emotionally connected again through evidence-based counseling.

With 20 years of experience, I help individuals, couples, and families improve communication and strengthen interpersonal relationships—whether professional, platonic, or romantic. If you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, conflict, emotional distance, or repeated relationship patterns that impact your well-being, therapy can help you feel more secure and connected.

I specialize in tailoring each session to your unique needs, drawing from my extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method. As a Gottman Level 3 trained therapist, I bring advanced expertise in the renowned Gottman Method, a research-based approach developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman. This method focuses on scientifically proven interventions and assessments to strengthen relationships and resolve conflicts.

Through the integration of these therapeutic modalities, I facilitate lasting changes that endure over time. Additionally, I lead a team of dedicated associates, ensuring that you have convenient access to high-quality support. My associates, under my guidance, are adept at providing assistance to further enhance your emotional health and foster growth in your relationships.

Your journey towards emotional well-being and relationship growth is of utmost importance to me. I am committed to making resources accessible and effective. I provide counseling online throughout California and in-person in Westlake Village | Thousand Oaks office.

I serve communities in Malibu, Calabasas, and Santa Barbara.

Marina Edelman, MFT - Couples Counseling

Individual

It’s common to experience emotional difficulties at some point in your life, whether it’s anxiety around a new relationship, sadness at the loss of a relative, or stress at work. These often resolve without professional help.

Sometimes, however, difficulties persist due to their deep-seated nature and their origins in your early life experience. Some of these formative experiences you may be aware of, while others may be more hidden from consciousness. That’s where individual therapy can help.

Family

Being part of a couple takes work, whether you’re married, engaged, or in a committed relationship. You may be able to get through a lot of life’s stressors and issues as a team, but others can cause strain and damage to your relationship. When that happens, couples counseling is a way to help you successfully work through any issues and rebuild your connection.

Mediation

Mediation is a way to amicably deal with conflict relating to family disputes, marriage dissolution, co-parenting and many other issues. As a Private Confidential Mediator, I function as a neutral facilitator, helping all parties come to a fair and equitable agreement. As a Mediator/Psychotherapist, I work collaboratively with an Attorney who is knowledgeable in California state law. This allows participants to feel confident in understanding the legal ramifications and possible alternatives to the decisions they make.

Toxic Family: Why You’re Still Waiting for an Apology
